Listening to their loyal following, Mint Velvet agreed there was a definite appetite for a consumer-facing mobile app. 

Mint Velvet’s eCommerce platform had limited API availability; meaning they believed they could not create a mobile app that would meet their objective of making it easier for customers to shop.

The delivery of a seamless and native shopping app was achieved by using a number of alternative techniques to overcome the limited API availability; and it was launched in less than 12 weeks.

Mint Velvet were able to meet their objective of making it easier for customers to shop by:

  • Creating an app checkout that customers can purchase from in a matter of clicks
  • Integration with Mint Velvet’s magazine to inspire customers to shop through latest trend reports and content
  • Adding a model’s look straight to a customer’s bag by simply selecting “Shop the Look” from any product image
  • Making it simple for customers to visit one of their stores through the intuitive store locator which provides opening hours, contact details and directions to the nearest store
  • Enabling push notifications to inform customers or customer groups of content, new arrivals and offers exclusive to them

What else was included the app? Exclusive app offers are sent to app customers to encourage loyalty and keep Mint Velvet directly on device home screen’s. To build growth and engagement of first time users, Mint Velvet also offers a discount to users when they first download the app.
